Sharon Diane Luongo (Lucky Luongo) was our beloved companion, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. After a resilient fight with Alzheimer's disease, she passed away peacefully in her sleep on Oct. 6, 2016. Sharon always had an open door and a warm shoulder when needed with a wonderful and welcoming spirit that personified who she was, and is. She was a lifelong resident of San Jose, California, born July 28, 1940. She attended San Jose High School and spent her life working in property management. She was a peace activist with San Jose Peace Center...

Sharon Diane Luongo (Lucky Luongo) was our beloved companion, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. After a resilient fight with Alzheimer's disease, she passed away peacefully in her sleep on Oct. 6, 2016. Sharon always had an open door and a warm shoulder when needed with a wonderful and welcoming spirit that personified who she was, and is. She was a lifelong resident of San Jose, California, born July 28, 1940. She attended San Jose High School and spent her life working in property management. She was a peace activist with San Jose Peace Center and a philanthropist who always helped others when needed. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed experiencing the world any way she could, especially from the back of a Harley and the deck of a ship.
She was preceded in death by her parents John Basso and Evelyn 'Babe' Rudy. She is survived by her loving partner, Bob Colby; children, Christy (Mike) Brown, Doug (Mindy) Brown, Glenn Brown, and Frank (Lorraine) Luongo; many stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other beloved family members. Visitation: Tuesday, October 18, 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m., Memorial service: Wednesday, October 19, 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Oaks, followed by burial. Location of both is Oak Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
